Cardiac Catheterization

Mount Sinai has the distinction of performing more diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterizations than any other hospital in South Florida.     Due to the great demand for our cardiac services, we expanded and centralized our Cardiac Center of Excellence on our Mount Sinai campus. This included a major expansion of the cardiac catheterization facilities and the addition of the most advanced cardiac catheterization technology. The two-year project has resulted in:

  • Four cardiac catheterization labs, including one electrophysiology lab and one special procedures root
  • 26-bed pre- and post-catheterization area, offering added privacy and individual televisions for patient comfort
  • Welcome center and admitting area
  • Private consult room for families to meet with the doctor after a procedure

  • Directs nursing and staffing service activities for the Cath Lab.  
  • Ensures the highest level of clinical quality in  compliant operational performance, customer service and cost effectiveness.                                              
  • Integrates the assigned areas of responsibility into the Medical Center's philosophy, mission and vision.                                              
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving clinical care within the assigned unit towards the goal of being rated among the best in the United States       
  • Creates, integrates and initiates new concepts and practices to improve patient and family care as well as physician and employee satisfaction.
  • Identifies staffing patterns to cover the unit's needs around the clock. Sets and monitors staff schedules in relation to patient acuity, census, technology and resources management to meet budgetary needs.                                                                                                            
  • Acts as a focal communication point with other departments. Coordinates and integrates inter-departmental services.
  • Establishes and maintains Medical Center safety and compliance policies           

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current RN Licensure in the state of FL
  • Essential experience in a clinical acute supervisory role in a Cardiac Cath lab setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years management in a hospital setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as successful candidate will communicate at all levels of organization.
  • Strong leadership operations skills within a multi-faceted department.
